Typically, the first weekend after school ends is packed with activities to kick off the summer with a bang. Typically, we go to the North Beach Fair, to a nice restaurant for Father’s Day, and to the concert of our choice. This particular weekend, the choices of fun, exciting things we might like to do also included Robogames, an international robot competition at Fort Mason; the first year of the Nor Cal Pirate Festival (which the gabby Germans told me about); and Alice’s Summerthing, a free concert at the Speedway Concourse with one of my favorite bands, Everclear.
But Peter is also in his crunch time for the next version of ComicBase, and he’d already spent all of last weekend having fun with us on our splendid LA vacation leading up to Neil’s audition. So we just went to Golden Gate Park for the De Young Museum’s weekly art activity for children.
