Last night, Peter and I finally got around to watching the 2008 movie In Bruges. It’s somewhat of an indie film, so you may not have seen it, but if you like the English gangster genre, or you just like quirky indie films, you’ll like this. In short, it’s English gangsters having a bad time in Belgium. Besides that, it also features a hard-partying racist dwarf, angry anti-smoking Canadians, a wimpy Euro-skinhead whom the English cruelly mock every time he opens his mouth, and lots of medieval scenery. It’s also fairly violent, being an English gangster film: from behind my hands, I counted at least 6 brutal bloody deaths and at least 3 felonious assaults. However, Belgian emergency services did respond promptly, and movie ended up being darkly amusing in the end. I recommend it highly.
